Your Weekend Emergency Visit, Step by Step
-
Call as early as you can
We keep time open on Saturday and Sunday mornings for urgent cases. Tell us what happened and we'll give you the earliest time we have.
-
Quick exam and imaging
Digital X-rays and, when needed, a 3D CBCT scan show exactly what's going on below the gumline.
-
Pain relief first
We numb the area and stop the pain before we talk about anything else.
-
Treatment the same day when possible
Root canal therapy, extractions, bonding and same-day CEREC crowns are all done in our office.
-
A clear plan
If you need more work, you leave with a written plan and the next appointment already booked.
Emergencies We Treat on Weekends
Looking for an emergency dentist open on Saturday or Sunday in Oxnard? Call us first thing. We prioritize patients in pain and handle most dental emergencies in-house with digital X-rays, CBCT imaging, and same-day CEREC crowns.
Severe Toothache
Throbbing or constant pain that keeps you up at night is often a sign of infection or a cracked tooth.
Broken or Chipped Tooth
A cracked or broken tooth can expose the nerve. Early repair protects the tooth and eases sensitivity.
Knocked-Out Tooth
A knocked-out adult tooth has the best chance of being saved when it is seen within about an hour.
Lost Filling or Crown
An exposed tooth is fragile and sensitive. We can protect it and restore it, often in the same visit.
Swelling or Abscess
Swelling in the gums or face can mean a spreading infection that needs prompt treatment.
Dental Injury
Sports accidents and falls can damage teeth, gums, and the jaw. We assess the injury and stabilize your smile.
Nervous about dental work? Ask about sedation dentistry for a calmer emergency visit.
Treatments We Can Finish on a Weekend
Most weekend emergencies are treated at the first visit, right in our office:

Weekend emergency patients come to us from RiverPark, Oxnard Shores, Mandalay Bay, Channel Islands Harbor, College Park, Downtown Oxnard and South Oxnard (ZIP codes 93030, 93033, 93035 and 93036).

Weekend Dental First Aid
These steps can ease pain and protect your tooth until your appointment. They don't replace treatment, so call us as soon as you can.
Toothache
Rinse with warm salt water, gently floss to remove trapped food, and take an over-the-counter pain reliever as directed. Don't put aspirin on the gum.
Knocked-Out Tooth
Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently, try to place it back in the socket, or keep it moist in milk or saliva and call us right away.
Broken Tooth
Rinse with warm water, save any pieces, and use a cold compress on the cheek to reduce swelling.
Lost Filling or Crown
Keep the crown if you have it. Dental wax or temporary cement from a pharmacy can protect the tooth until your visit.
Swelling
Use a cold compress on the outside of the cheek, 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off. Don't apply heat.
Bleeding
Apply firm pressure with clean gauze for 15 minutes. If bleeding won't stop, seek emergency care.

Weekend Emergency Dentist FAQs
Is there an emergency dentist open on Saturday or Sunday in Oxnard?
Yes. Seren Advanced Dentistry Oxnard is open Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sundays are reserved for dental emergencies. Call (805) 220-9209 as early as you can and we'll do our best to see you the same day.
Is dental urgent care the same as an emergency dentist?
For tooth problems, yes. Medical urgent care clinics can't fill, repair or remove teeth, so they usually prescribe pain medication and send you to a dentist. Our weekend emergency visits work as dental urgent care: we find the cause with digital X-rays and treat it the same day whenever we can.
Can I get a root canal or tooth extraction on a Saturday or Sunday?
Often, yes. We perform root canal therapy, extractions and wisdom tooth removal in our office, so many patients have the problem treated at their first weekend visit. If a tooth needs more time, we relieve the pain first and schedule the rest.
¿Atienden emergencias dentales los fines de semana en español?
Sí. Nuestro equipo habla inglés y español, y atendemos emergencias los sábados y domingos de 8:00 AM a 5:00 PM. Llame al (805) 220-9209.
Do you charge more for weekend emergency appointments?
No. We never charge extra for emergency treatment, on Saturday or any other day. You get care at our regular costs.
Should I go to the ER or an emergency dentist for tooth pain?
For tooth pain, a broken tooth, or a lost filling or crown, an emergency dentist is the right choice because the ER usually can't repair teeth. Go to the ER for swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, high fever, uncontrolled bleeding, or a suspected jaw fracture.
Can a knocked-out tooth be saved on the weekend?
Often, yes, if you act quickly. Keep the tooth moist in milk or saliva, handle it by the crown only, and call us right away. Teeth seen within about an hour have the best chance of being saved.
Do you accept insurance for weekend emergency care?
Yes. Weekend emergency visits are billed like any other appointment. We work with most major insurance plans and offer flexible financing.

(Translated by Google) The best dentist I've ever had. A great doctor is not just a dentist, he's a human being. The welcome from the very first moment I walk in. The humane and warm treatment, starting with the doctor and then the two young women who assist him, creates a healthy and non-discriminatory environment; he's not racist. He's a doctor with a very professional and humane approach, very intelligent and highly capable in what he does. But he doesn't just charge and do the work; he also cares about the patient. I thank God for this dentist. 🙏🙏🙏
